The Rise of Intentional Communities

Part 1.  Changing course along the pursuit of happiness.

 

There is a rapidly growing movement of people pursuing a new way of life. A return to simplicity and community, and away from the mainstream:

Homesteading Communities. 

Off Grid Refuge Hideaways.

Intentional Communities.

 

Two fundamental aspirations lie in the heart of it all;

 

  •  A vision of a purposeful and simplified life and a feeling of belonging. A leap to a new life in unity with others, and rich in intention.  

     

  • A separation and independence from the chaos, noise, and stresses of the modern larger world. 

In escaping a society that isn't working for them - they are creating new spaces to suit their own visions.  

 

These are not dreamers.  Across the globe thousands of these new communities are emerging - some still in the forming or very early stages, and many now established, thriving, and growing. 

Here at offgridcentral.org we are engaging with many of these groups, in countries around the world. We are helping them find compatible new members, .... and helping searchers find the community that is the right fit for them.  And in the course of doing that, we are learning about the stumbling blocks they have encountered, and what is working well.

 

That is the spark for this series. We want to summarize those topics as well as we can. Those challenges and successes. How they are turning visions and aspirations into reality.
